CONTROLLER BUILDER HELP
Change only what you want.
You do not need to choose an upgrade in every category. Start with your controller, change the parts you want, and leave everything else on its existing or included option.
Choose your controllerAsk for help with a build
Browse yourself or follow the guide
Choose Guide me step by step in the builder for optional help. Confirm the controller, tick the parts you want to change, then follow each choice through to the preview and price review. Next keeps your current choice; it does not buy or reset anything. You can go back or leave the guide at any time. Your selected parts remain in place.
1. Choose a part to change
Confirm your exact controller model first. Open Choose parts and select a category, such as the shell, buttons or thumbsticks.
On a phone, use the category list at the top of the parts area. Start with the shell if you want a full kit.
2. Pick the option you like
Open a part card, check its price, then use Add part to build when that button appears. Keep existing, standard and included all mean you can leave that part as it is.
A full kit may already supply other parts. The builder locks those included choices so you do not buy them twice.
3. Review the price and parts
Open Review & price on a phone, or read the build summary below the main builder on desktop. Check the selected parts, applicable fitting and total before adding the build to your cart.
The written parts list is the order reference. Internal repairs and some finishes may not be visible in the picture.
Which mode should I use?
Build to order is for choosing available, compatible parts for a real controller.
Ideas only is a creative space for concepts. Those designs cannot be ordered. You do not need this mode to customise a real controller.
Photos are optional
Fitted composites show parts on the selected controller model. They are appearance references, with exact parts confirmed in the written build list.
Enhanced AI previews are optional. They do not change the order. See fitted composite examples →
Chrome uses real product references. Only the reviewed transparent combinations are enabled.
Save a design for later
Use Save and compare your builds to name a design, reopen it, compare two designs or download a build sheet.
Up to eight designs are saved in this browser. Clearing browser data can remove them. The downloaded sheet is a reference, not an order or confirmed quotation.
Parts or a stick repair?
External thumbsticks change what your thumbs touch. Internal stick modules are a repair or performance service. You do not need an internal repair just to change a thumbstick colour.
Installed stick-service prices include the fitting stated on their cards. Applicable cosmetic fitting is added once in the build total. Customer-changeable accessories do not receive an installation fee.
Not sure what to choose?
Keep the existing option if you do not want that part changed. If a part is unavailable or needs a price, the builder will tell you before you can order it.
Ask DriftFix for a personal quote and describe the look or repair you want.
More about fitted previews and AI photos
For the clearest result, make your choices in this order:
- Choose the shell or faceplate first. A full shell + buttons option uses its matching controls by default, but you can separately purchase a different full control/button set, replacement bumper set, or coloured thumbsticks. When a separate choice replaces a component from a full kit, the builder automatically credits that component’s separated value and the unused part stays with or returns to DriftFix.
- Work through the controls, side rails, performance kits and other categories. The green outline shows the active choice. Cosmetic choices use registered controller surfaces and fitted overlays; internal-only upgrades intentionally do not change its exterior. Each product card remains the exact listing reference.
- Choose Front or Rear / Top. The instant fitted preview remains free, and the builder checks that exact controller and view against DriftFix's shared high-detail photo cache. An existing photo loads free.
- If no exact cached photo exists, use the free photo button. Each visitor can create five successful new photos, followed by a 30-minute pause; cached exact photos and failed attempts do not use that allowance.
- To order the build, choose Add Build to Cart. Parts use the displayed DriftFix price. Cosmetic or mechanical work adds one fitting fee per controller: $15 for front access or $25 for full teardown where applicable, while soldered stick or motherboard work adds no additional stick labour fee because the displayed pair price is installed. Cosmetic fitting uses the highest access tier once per controller. Electronic fitting is $20 per selected electronic part, unless the selected installed service already includes it. Sourced and ready-built controllers keep their protected exterior and offer only eligible additions.
- Use Front or Rear / Top, then generate or download a free preview. The written Selected Parts list remains the authoritative build order.
Important: AI now uses the exact assembled preview as its layout reference and the selected product photos for real finishes, patterns and materials. The written Selected Parts list resolves any ambiguity. Exact cached results are shared free; Front and Rear / Top are separate cache entries.
